Police ignores investigating raider attack on Amstor trading network - lawyers

KYIV. April 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The police investigative department is not investigating the blocking of activity and the raider seizure of the Amstor retail network, lawyer Serhiy Kryzhov has said at the press conference "Hostile takeovers in Ukraine, ways to battle corporate raiding" at Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the lawyer, at the beginning of this year the police were actively investigating and even found out that the alienation of property rights was based on forged documents. However, from February 13, 2015, after a search of the offices of PJSC Smart-holding owned by MP Vadim Novinsky, the police halted their investigation.

"The victims filed a request for investigative measures, but nothing has been done within the investigation," he said.

When asked about whom he considers to be victims, the lawyer said "first if all, I consider Amstor Trade LLC and its founder to be the victims."

Kryzhov noted that in late December 2014 100% of the corporate rights in Amstor Trade LLC, part of Amstor, were unlawfully alienated. According to him, the Amstor corporate structure includes seven companies that were seized, whose founders are Volodymyr and Oleksandr Vahorovsky.
