Belarus president's visit to Ukraine to go down in history, say Foreign Ministry's experts
Kyiv, November 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The official visit of the Belarusian President Oleksandr Lukashenko to Ukraine has been a breakthrough and will go down in history, experts from Ukraine's Foreign Ministry believe.
"This is a historic and breakthrough visit … as in the frames of this visit the two presidents have for the first time confirmed the two countries' readiness to gradually settle the principal issue on the agenda - the formalization of the joint border," director of the Foreign Ministry's fourth territorial department told Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.
"Thus, the first step has been done," he commented on the decision to submit the agreement about the state border between Ukraine and Belarus for ratification by the Belarusian parliament.
