Kyiv, October 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State agencies has not yet settled the issue of returning wage arrears to employees of bankrupt AeroSvit airline, Chairman of the Trade Union of AeroSvit Flight Attendants Veniamin Tymoshenko said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
"The largest wage debt worth over UAH 150 million has been formed in AeroSvit," he said.
Tymoshenko also said that almost all the money AeroSvit had was illegally transferred to PrivatBank.
He said that trade unions applied to various agencies and finally managed to return over UAH 40 million of the debt.
"However, the rest of over UAH 110 million is still a debt to employees of AeroSvit. The state again supports our former employers, and it is OK if there is a debt of UAH 110 million. Prosecutors, enforcement service, Social Policy Ministry, Infrastructure Ministry, all those who was to protect the constitutional rights of the airline's employees put the problem aside. The position of the state today is unclear," he said.
As reported, AeroSvit, which was the largest Ukrainian airline, started a bankruptcy procedure in late December 2012, which was later canceled by the court ruling, and at present, the airline does not exist psychically and it does not perform flights.
