Nearly 71% of Ukrainians want Ukraine to be unitary state - poll
Kyiv, April 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Nearly 71% of Ukrainian citizens support a unitary system of government, and less than 19% want Ukraine to be a federal state, according to results of a poll of 6,200 respondents that the Socis Center for Social and Marketing Research, Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, the Rating Sociological Group and the Razumkov Center conducted in all regions of Ukraine on April 9-16.
The poll results were presented at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine press center in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Asked what form of government they prefer, 70.9% of the respondents named a unitary state, 18.7% federal, and 10.4% refused to answer or are undecided.
