Construction Ministry intends to extend 'construction amnesty' until 2015
Kyiv, November 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The commissioning of private houses and public buildings of the first and second categories of complexity that were built without permits for construction work, is likely to be extended until 2014, Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services Dmytro Isayenko has said.
"This 'construction amnesty' is likely to be prolonged for another year, because not everybody used this mechanism," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine in Kyiv on Wednesday.
According to Isayenko, within the three years of the "construction amnesty" some 100,000 individuals and legal entities in Ukraine had formalized the right of ownership to unauthorized construction objects.
As reported, in May 2013 the deputy head of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of Ukraine, Vitaliy Stashenko, appealed to citizens asking to avoid creating an unnecessary fuss when filing documents, as construction amnesty could be extended for2014 if required.
According to Stashenko, the expected number of applications for commissioning such objects during the current year remains at about the level of 2012 - about 48,000, compared to 17,115 such objects in 2011.
