Ukrainians still see no new political parties to be elected to parliament, poll shows
Kyiv, September 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian citizens are ready to support the same five political parties that currently have seats in parliament in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, according to a survey conducted by Research & Branding Group presented at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
According to the poll, if parliamentary elections were held this Sunday, 22% of respondents would vote for the Party of Regions, 18.4% would support the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union, 13.3% the UDAR Party, 6.1% the Communist Party of Ukraine, and 5.3% the Svoboda Party.
At the same time, 14.4% of respondents said they would not go to the polls, and 18.8% were undecided.
R&B Group Director Yevhen Kopatko said that Svoboda's rating had fallen compared with the results of the recent parliamentary elections, including due to the fact that this political party is represented in power in a number of western regions and its actions are critically assessed in these regions.
In addition, the party's rating was also affected by its non-participation in the issues of Ukraine's European integration, which are actively dealt with by Batkivschyna and UDAR.
The study was conducted by R&B Group on September 15-25, 2013 in all regions in Ukraine. A total of 3,117 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed. The margin of error is 2%.
