Ukravtodor will continue cooperation with international lenders to build and repair roads

Kyiv, May 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) will continue borrowing funds from international financial organizations, namely the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank, according to Ukravtodor chief Yevhen Prusenko.

"These are very beneficial sources of funding for the state at extremely low interest rates. In future we're planning to continue raising funds on terms of a public-private partnership, in particular, for the construction and reconstruction of roads under concession projects," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

According to Prusenko, the State Economy Stimulation Program for 2013-2014 provides the preparation of tender documentation for concession tenders for six facilities of road infrastructure, including the construction of a large ring road in Kyiv, highways between Rivne and Brody, Lviv and Krakovets, and Odesa and Reni.

"We've set tasks before ourselves to prepare all the necessary tender documents and conduct tender procedures within one year or a year and a half at longest," he said.

Ukravtodor, with the assistance of the EBRD, is also to launch a pilot project in 2013 for the operational maintenance of the Kyiv-Chop highway in Lviv region, he added.
