Ru.Music TV channel accuses GFK of manipulating ratings for Ukrainian TV channels
Kyiv, October 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ru.Music TV channel has accused GFK research company of manipulating the ratings of Ukrainian TV channels, the director of the television channel, Rudolf Kirnos, has said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
Ru.Music accused GFK of manipulating ratings in May 2012. The channel has data that agreements with households signed by the research company did not contain information on the structure of the family and the type of television signal, which is an important parameter in evaluating audiences.
The television channel submitted an application to law-enforcement bodies asking to investigate manipulations, although a criminal case has not been opened.
Kirnos said that the Kroll international detective agency had conducted its own investigation into the case and did not uncover violations by GFK.
"Kroll was hired by GFK," Kirnos said.
He also said that other television channel know about the manipulations, and Kirnos called on their leaderships to also submit applications to the law-enforcement bodies, which could accelerate the opening of a criminal case on the issue.
"If you have suspicions, submit an application to the law-enforcement bodies, and the truth will be known very quickly," he said.
