Kyiv regional customs office boosts transfers to budget by 9% in H1
Kyiv, July 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv's Regional Customs Office January through June 2012 transferred about UAH 12 billion to the national budget, which was 9% up year-over-year.
"Every month the Kyiv Regional Customs Office transfers about UAH 2 billion to the budget, and in the first half this year we transferred about UAH 12 billion," Kyiv Regional Customs Chief Dmytro Polischuk said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
He added that from January through June 2012 the Kyiv customs office registered 131 million tonnes of cargo, including 27 million tonnes for import, 3 million tonnes for export, and 101 million tonnes for transit.
In the first half of 2012, the Kyiv Regional Customs Office handled cargo imported from 171 countries and exported to 130 countries. Russia, China, Germany, Italy, Poland, and France remain major importers. Exporter countries were mainly Russia, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Cyprus.
According to Polischuk, after the new Customs Code became effective as of June 1, 2012, the customs office compiled 144 reports on the violation of customs regulations to the tune of about UAH 5 million.
As was reported, the State Customs Service in the first half of this year sent UAH 60 billion to the national budget, which was UAH 30 billion up on the same period last year.
