Greenpeace opens Ukraine office
The representative office of Greenpeace was registered on June 18, 2024, according to Greenpeace-Ukraine Director Natalia Gozak, who told the Humanitarin Media Hub (HMH), the organization was active in Ukraine from 1991 to 1998 and resumed its activities only in 2022, after the start of a full-scale invasion.
"During these two years, we implemented projects with the help of partner organizations funded by the global Greenpeace. And now we have our office in Kyiv," Gozak said, adding that there are currently a number of pages on Facebook with the name Greenpeace, which do not represent the organization. Four NGOs are also registered in Ukraine, which position themselves as Greenpeace, but have no relation to the international community. "We will encourage them to change the name so that there is no confusion," HMH quoted Gozak as saying.
