Polish PM: We’ll continue to urge our allies to make Ukraine's path to joining EU, NATO as fast as possible
Poland will continue to urge its allies to accelerate Ukraine's accession to the European Union and NATO, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said.
"You will soon go to the United States for the NATO summit and there you will also be able to count on our full support. Ukraine's path to NATO is longer than Poland would like it. For now, we will do everything to make NATO's assistance to Ukraine more effective … We will continue to urge our allies to follow this path of joining both the European Union and NATO as quickly as possible for Ukraine," the Polish Prime Minister said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Poland.
Tusk added that he also spoke with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Monday during a meeting of the National Security Council, "so that together with our Ukrainian friends we can work today on the most effective Polish presidency in the European Union so that Ukraine can get as much benefit from it as possible."
