Shmyhal instructs Defense Ministry to urgently report on financing for construction of fortifications

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has instructed the Defense Ministry of Ukraine to urgently report to the government on financing for the construction of fortifications.

"We pay special attention to fortifications. I instruct the Ministry of Defense to immediately inform the government about the financing of this construction according to the approved schedule," he said at a government meeting on Friday via video link.

According to Shmyhal, since the beginning of the year the state has allocated UAH 38 billion for the construction of defensive lines.

"We need to use these funds as quickly and efficiently as possible, because the lives of the soldiers and our defense capability depend on it," he said.

As reported, Shmyhal is currently on a working visit to Donetsk region.
