Zelenskyy invites Swedish govt, businesses to take patronage over reconstruction war-affected region of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden Johan Forssell and representatives of Swedish business in Kyiv on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the head of state invited the Swedish government and businesses to take patronage over the reconstruction of one of the affected regions of Ukraine, the press service of the Office of the President said.

"It is important that during the visit, the Minister is accompanied by the heads of Swedish companies present in Ukraine. We appreciate your work and invite you to invest even more to create new jobs," he said.

The parties also discussed the prospects of using the proceeds of frozen Russian assets for the needs of our country, strengthening the international sanctions regime against the aggressor state of Russia, and providing energy support to Ukraine against the backdrop of Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.

Forssell, for his part, confirmed the significant interest of Swedish businesses in investing in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of the recent opening of the Swedish Trade Mission in Kyiv, which will facilitate further entry of Swedish companies into the Ukrainian market.

As reported, on Monday, the Swedish organization Business Sweden, which operates in more than 40 international markets and helps Swedish companies develop abroad, opened its representative office in Ukraine.
