Ministry of Reconstruction calls for return of all trucks from EU to Ukraine by July 10 to update documents

Carriers operating in European Union (EU) countries under the Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Ukraine on the carriage of freight by road must return all trucks to Ukraine by July 10 to update documents in accordance with new requirements.

"By July 10, all trucks must return to Ukraine to further travel with updated documents and markings," wrote Serhiy Derkach, Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development, on Facebook on Monday.

According to him, the key documents that carriers must have to comply with the updated requirements include an extract of the license in English, cargo documents for empty trucks, and vehicle markings.

As reported, the Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Ukraine on the carriage of freight by road, which was set to expire on June 30, 2024, was extended until June 30, 2025, and for another six months provided that "neither party objects based on compelling and clear evidence of violations in the road transport market."

The Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Ukraine on the carriage of freight by road was signed by Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach and EU Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean.

The updated agreement includes a safeguard clause that allows the suspension of the agreement in certain geographical areas where serious violations in the road transport market are recorded.
