Zelenskyy, Dutch PM in Berlin discuss supply of additional Patriot systems

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte on the sidelines of Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin and noted the leadership of the Netherlands in the initiative to supply our country with Patriot systems in the shortest possible time and thanked for comprehensive, primarily military assistance, it is reported on the website of the head of the Ukrainian state on Tuesday.

"Grateful for the Netherlands providing EUR 128 million of additional financial support to Ukraine. It will strengthen our recovery capabilities and the energy industry, which has been seriously damaged due to Russian missile terror," Zelenskyy said.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the Global Peace Summit and common steps to ensure that it brings real results to Ukraine, and also exchanged views on our country's progress towards joining the EU.

"Ukraine has successfully implemented all the recommendations of the European Commission necessary to begin negotiations on our state's accession to the EU. We count on the support of the Netherlands in approving the negotiating framework for Ukraine at the European Council meeting and holding the first intergovernmental conference in June. This will be the actual start of the negotiation process," Zelenskyy said.
