Zelenskyy: Russia hits Trypillia TPP as Ukrainian air defense runs out of missiles
The Trypillia thermal power plant (TPP) was hit by Russian missiles because at that time the Ukrainian air defense missiles had run out, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with PBS published on Tuesday.
"Eleven missiles were flying. We destroyed the first seven. Four destroyed the Trypillia thermal power plant. Why? Because [we] had zero missiles. We have run out of all the missiles protecting Trypillia," he said.
The Trypillia thermal power plant was destroyed as a result of a massive missile attack on the night of April 11. As a result of the hits, a large-scale fire occurred in the turbine shop.
