On March 7 and 8, some 59 Ukrainian citizens, including 15 children, were evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt, the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel said.
"On March 7 and 8, the next stage of evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip took place. Some 59 of our citizens and members of their families [15 children, 37 women, eight men] were evacuated through the Rafah checkpoint to the territory of Egypt," the embassy said on Facebook on Friday evening.
It is noted that the evacuation was successful thanks to the efforts of representatives of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and diplomatic staff of the Ukrainian embassies in Israel and Egypt.
Now the evacuated Ukrainians are housed in a hotel in Egypt, and will soon be transported to Ukraine.
