Zelenskyy: Conscripts to be sent to reserve from April
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said conscripts who were called up for military service even before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion and are still fighting will be sent to the reserves from April 2024.
"There is a decree on the transfer to the reserve of conscripts – those who were called up for military service even before the start of the full-scale invasion. Now, at the request of the military command, several weeks are needed for preparatory procedures, to replace people from the point of view of defense tasks. And from April, conscripts will be sent 'in reserve," the president said in an evening video address.
"Knowing that some of them signed a contract to serve in the Defense Forces, I am grateful to everyone," he said.
