Biden to make statement of support for Ukraine in his speech – White House

Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House National Security Council John Kirby said that U.S. President Joe Biden in his upcoming speech to the American people and Congressmen will speak out about support for Ukraine, which continues to resist large-scale Russian military aggression, Voice of America reports.

Kirby did not reveal details of Biden's upcoming speech, but noted that he will talk, in particular, about the things that he has achieved in these three and a half years as president - from the economy to education, health care, and jobs.

This is also about renewing American leadership on the world stage, Kirby said.

He explained that this leadership provides the power to unite in response to challenges, tremendous opportunity, and undoubtedly helps influence the decisions and actions of other leaders around the world, especially adversaries, in a manner that best serves our national security interests.

Kirby emphasized that support for Ukraine comes first here.

According to him, this means helping Ukrainian soldiers achieve success in the battle against Russian aggression. But again, our national security will benefit from this, because the situation on the European continent has changed, the official noted.

Kirby added that if the United States simply leaves this and allows Putin to conquer Ukraine, which he still wants, then he will be on NATO's doorstep.
