Stefanchuk: Number of signatures of parliamentary speakers on appeal to Johnson calling on him to vote on bill on aid to Ukraine increases to 27

Four more speakers signed the appeal of the head of the European Parliament and the speakers of 23 parliaments to Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson calling for a vote on the bill on aid to Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

"You know that a letter was signed by 23 speakers of European countries, which was initiated by me. Today, four more speakers joined this letter, that is, we can already talk about 27 speakers, plus the decision of the European Parliament," Stefanchuk said on the air of a national telethon in Wednesday.

As reported, in an open letter, the leaders of the European parliaments asked their U.S. counterpart to submit to the House of Representatives of the United States Congress the bill HR 815 on U.S. international assistance, adopted on February 13, 2024 by the U.S. Senate, providing for an appropriation of $60.06 billion to help Ukraine.

Speakers of parliaments expressed hope that the U.S. Congress will demonstrate historic bipartisan unity and support Ukraine.

The letter was also signed by the speakers of the parliaments of Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, and Bulgaria.
