Germany allocates EUR 700,000 to 68 Ukrainian providers to restore Internet
The German government, within the international cooperation program ReACT4UA, has allocated grants for restoring the Internet in the liberated territories to 68 Ukrainian operators for a total amount of up to EUR 700,000, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced on Monday.
According to the department, the most projects are in Kyiv region - 16, Sumy - 13, Kharkiv - 11 and Kherson - 6.
Among the winners, 50 companies use xPON, since this technology is the most resistant to power outages and provides speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s.
It is clarified that grants to Ukrainian telecommunications service operators are provided within the international cooperation program ReACT4UA (Application and implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in the field of trade), funded by the German government and implemented by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zus.
The Ukrainian partner is the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) with the support of the organizer and key partner - the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
