Zelenskyy signs law on legalization of medical cannabis
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law "On regulating the turnover of cannabis plants for medical, industrial purposes, scientific and scientific-technical activities to create conditions for expanding patients' access to necessary treatment for oncological diseases and post-traumatic stress disorders resulting from the war," according to the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
As reported, in December 2023, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the relevant bill.
The Law creates regulatory conditions for the legally limited circulation and use of cannabis, its resin, extracts and tinctures for medical, industrial purposes, scientific and scientific-technical activities.
The law comes into force six months after its promulgation.
