Ministry of Sports: 317 Ukrainian athletes, coaches, sports personnel overstay their permitted stay abroad
The Ministry of Youth and Sports states that during martial law, 317 athletes, coaches and sports personnel overstayed their permitted stay abroad.
"In 2022-2024, the Ministry of Sports sent 4,760 letters to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine regarding the crossing of the border by athletes, coaches and sports personnel to participate in sports competitions," the ministry said in its response to a request from Interfax-Ukraine.
In addition, the Ministry of Sports said during the entire period of martial law in Ukraine, 317 persons overstayed their permitted stay abroad in violation of legal requirements.
In particular, among them are footballers Artem Dovbyk, Anatoliy Trubin, Illia Zabarny, Mykhailo Mudryk and Artem Hromov playing in foreign clubs.

As reported, in Ukraine, seven coaches and 37 athletes were deprived of 54 sports titles in 2022-2023 due to lifelong sports disqualification.
