In Kyiv's Sviatoshynsky district, young man died due to explosion of unknown object, 100 residents of entrance evacuated – Emergency Service
A person died in Kyiv as a result of an explosion of an unknown object, 100 residents of the entrance where the explosion occurred were evacuated to a safe distance, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv said.
"On February 7 at 23:24 a fire was reported on Symyrenko Street. As a result of the explosion of an unknown object in the apartment, the balcony was damaged and a fire broke out in the apartment," the Emergency Service said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
The fire was reportedly extinguished at 00:58 on February 8, but during the fire "the body of a young man was discovered." "Some 100 residents of the entrance were evacuated to a safe distance. Law enforcement officers will determine the cause of the fire," the service said.
