Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky made a working visit to the military units and detachments which are currently defending the Kupyansk axis, the press service of the Ground Forces has said.
"The operational situation remains tense. Heavy fighting continues on all sections of the frontline. The enemy goes on with highly intensive assault operations and regularly deploys new reserves. Oleksandr Syrsky heard commanders' reports directly at the command centers. He held operational meetings. Possible scenarios of the adversary's actions based on intelligence were considered," it said on the Telegram channel on Saturday.
Necessary orders were issued and redistribution of forces and means was carried out following the meetings with the aim of solving critically important defense sustainability issues.
"As Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky said, the key priorities are effective reconnaissance, coordinated use of all fire weapons, protection of our detachments by electronic warfare, preservation of our servicemen's lives," the press service said.
