Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly has arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit.
At a joint press conference with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, she stressed the steadfastness of Canadian support for Ukraine and pointed out that at the moment Canada has provided $9.5 billion in aid, including $2.4 billion in military aid.
In addition, as part of Operation Unifier, the Canadian Armed Forces have trained more than 40,000 Ukrainian servicemen since 2014. And this training continues today in the UK, Latvia and Poland.
Also, according to Joly, the process of developing a free trade Agreement between Canada and Ukraine is being completed.
According to her, during the two-year term since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, their support for the independent future of Ukraine remains unwavering. She recommended the supporters of Ukraine sticking to this course, stressing they cannot afford to lose confidence or hesitate.
Joly noted that this is her fourth visit to Ukraine.
