Situation in Siversk and Bakhmut directions remains extremely tense – Syrsky

Commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, visited the brigades in Siversk and Bakhmut directions of Donetsk region and heard an assessment of the situation and the commanders' proposals for further combat operations, the press service of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

"Commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky, paid a working visit to the brigades in Siversk and Bakhmut directions of Donetsk region," the Ground Forces said on the Telegram channel on Monday.

"The situation remains extremely tense and is characterized by the intensive use of artillery fire, mortars, attack drones and assault operations by the enemy," the press service quoted Syrsky's statement as saying.

As reported, during the work, the commander "heard the commanders on the conclusions of the assessment of the situation and proposals for further combat operations. Also, all necessary decisions were taken on the ground to improve the effectiveness of defense and eliminate problematic issues."
