URCS volunteers help people affected by rising water levels in Chernihiv region
A disaster response team of the Chernihiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is engaged in assistance to people affected by the rising water levels in the region's rivers due to snowmelt.
"The increasing complexity of the hydrological situation and transportation are now observed in some districts. In particular, the water level in the Snov River rose by more than a meter [...] the road connecting the villages of Velyky Dyrchyn and Maly Dyrchyn in the Sedniv community was flooded," the URCS said on Facebook on Friday.
The disaster response team and employees of the State Emergency Service used a Bohun swamp vehicles to deliver humanitarian aid, including food, hygiene kits, baby diapers, to the residents of Maly Dyrchyn.
Ten adults and one child, born in 2022, are currently trapped due to flooded roads, the URCS said.
