Ukraine wants to have more contacts with China at all levels
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba believes that the war in Ukraine does not meet China's strategic interests and said Kyiv wants to have more contacts with Beijing at all levels.
"I do not believe that this war is in China's strategic interests. We believe that China is currently monitoring developments and watching as different parties pour more and more resources into it. China is not only focused on its economic problems, but and on developments in our region. We want to talk more with China. We want to have more contacts with them at all levels," he said at a discussion program in Davos on Wednesday.
According to the minister, in its approach to China, the Ukrainian side is guided by the fact that Beijing is interested in an independent, peaceful and prosperous Ukraine.
"Also because of the inevitable prospect of Ukraine becoming a member of the single market of the European Union," Kuleba said.
