Russia forming mercenary detachments to be sent to Africa – military intelligence
Russia is forming detachments of so-called "military instructors" for further dispatch to African countries, the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said.
"Moscow is also carrying out persistent recruiting in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular, in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Contracts are proposed to be signed by military reserves of the Russian occupation army – specialists in servicing Russian-made air defense systems, military sailors and some other specialists in the military-technical sector," the agency said in the Telegram channel.
It is noted that the agreements are designed for several years with a monthly salary commensurate with the monetary support of the Russian occupiers fighting against Ukraine.
"Mercenaries are attracted not only by high earnings, but also by the opportunity to avoid participation in a war against our state, which involves high risks of death," the agency said.
Moscow sees the purpose of sending the appropriate contingent to expand its influence in Africa.
