Budanov's wife poisoned, hospitalized – media

Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov's wife, Marianna, was poisoned with heavy metals, she is hospitalized now, Ukrainian media reported referring to intelligence sources.

Ukrainian publication Babel said that the woman was hospitalized after a prolonged deterioration of her health.

"The course of treatment is now being completed, and then there will be a check-up by the doctors," the source said, adding that the woman was diagnosed with heavy metal damage.

"These substances are not used in any way in everyday life and military affairs. Their presence may indicate a purposeful attempt to poison a specific person," the intelligence agency said.
