Pistorius arrives in Ukraine to get first-hand understanding of situation, effectiveness of German support
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday morning on an unannounced visit to personally assess the current situation and the effectiveness of German support.
“Minister Pistorius has arrived in Ukraine to personally get an idea of the current situation and the effectiveness of German support. At the beginning of his visit, he laid flowers at the memorial in memory of the heroes of the Maidan in Kyiv,” the German Ministry of Defense said on X (Twitter) on Tuesday .
Pistorius pledged further support for Ukraine during his visit to Kyiv, television news service Tagesschau reported.
"I am here again, firstly, to promise continued support," Pistorius said.
He said he also wanted to express "our solidarity, our deep connection and admiration for the brave, courageous and costly fight that is being waged here."
