European Commission informs US senators, congressmen about assistance to Ukraine – von der Leyen
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has said that at a meeting with U.S. senators and congressmen she explained what the assistance to Ukraine means.
A few weeks ago, during a summit with the participation of the EU and the United States, the European Commission spoke about EUR 50 billion assistance for Ukraine it has proposed to the European Council and expressed the hope that an agreement would be reached before the end of the year, she said during a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Saturday.
The President of the European Commission also said that she had an opportunity to talk to senators and congressmen and explain them why it is important to ensure that Ukraine has financial stability and predictability of the budget.
