Eight Hepatitis A cases registered in Ivano-Frankivsk region, including three in children

Eight people, including three children, were hospitalized with Hepatitis A in Ivano-Frankivsk region, the patients are in a state of moderate severity, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration Svitlana Onyschuk has said.

"The situation with the Hepatitis A incidence. Various messages on the issue have been spread in the social media over the past 24 hours. Currently, there are eight people, including three children, with such a diagnosis receiving in-patient treatment. They are in a state of moderate severity," she said on the Telegram channel on Thursday.

Onyschuk quoted information from the Healthcare Department of the Regional Military Administration saying that "the people got sick on the middle of October. All of the mentioned cases are single and no connection between them has been established yet. Therefore, we are not talking about an outbreak. The situation is under control," the regional head said.

Hepatitis A cases have been recorded during the year. The symptoms of the disease include general weakness and fatigue, yellowing of the eyes and skin, loss of appetite, diarrhea, in more serious cases – rise in body temperature.

Earlier, Suspilne reported, with a reference to Head of the Healthcare and Rehabilitation Department of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Tetiana Bondarenko, that 111 people, including 22 children, were hospitalized with Hepatitis A in Vinnytsia as of November 2. Fifteen new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
