States of Washington, Maryland and Arizona recognize Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-1933 as genocide
The American states of Washington, Maryland and Arizona recognized the Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and proclaimed November as the month of remembrance of this tragedy, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova reported on the social network X (Twitter).
Markarova thanked the states and their governors for "a proclamation recognizing Ukrainian Holodomor as genocide" and "for bringing awareness of this genocide perpetrated by the Soviet/Russian regime," noting that Ukrainians are now "defending themselves from the same Russian aggressors."
According to her, more than 30 American states have already issued corresponding proclamations recognizing the Holodomor as genocide.
