European Commission's report with recommendations to EC whether or not to start talks with Kyiv on accession to EU to be presented on Nov 8 – sources
The European Commission will publish a report that will contain recommendations whether or not to start negotiations with Ukraine on accession to the European Union, on November 8.
This information was announced to Interfax-Ukraine by independent sources in Brussels.
As it is known, the so-called enlargement package, which the European Commission presents annually to the European Council, contains a detailed assessment of the state of affairs and progress achieved by countries on the path to the EU. In particular, the assessment will be given to the fulfilment by Ukraine, which was granted the status of a candidate country in 2022, of seven requirements necessary to fulfil in order for the European Council to be able to decide on the start of direct negotiations on accession to the Community. Progress will also be assessed in Moldova, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Turkey.
