NATO has enough resources to help Israel and Ukraine - Dpty Secretary General
The North Atlantic Alliance has sufficient resources not only to support Israel, but also to provide military support to Ukraine, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana said in an interview with Digi 24 on Friday evening.
"I think we have enough resources. In our Alliance there are 32 countries, including Sweden, I guess, more than 1 billion people live and more than 50% of the world's GDP. There are resources for ... what we must do in support of Ukraine," , said Geoana.
He stressed that NATO has “concrete defense plans” in conditions where the Alliance has identified two direct threats: “Russia and terrorism.”
“We will have to close ranks again, support Israel, but in a way that avoids escalation and inflaming public opinion, and I am confident that we can do this calmly and patiently,” said the Deputy Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance.
