More than 165,000 people receive URCS' first aid training since beginning of war
More than 165,000 people received first aid training organized by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) since the beginning of the Russian full-scale aggression against Ukraine.
"Since February 24, 2022, more than 165,500 people received first aid training from trainers and instructors of the Ukrainian Red Cross," the URCS said on Facebook on Friday.
Currently, the URCS has three certified 6-, 12- and 48-hour training programs, consisting of separate modules with 60% of the time used for practical training of first aid skills. Training participants learn to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stop bleeding, and provide first aid for burns and wounds.
The URCS trainers also teach first aid to children starting at the age of five.
The URCS instructors have their own training methodology and materials. They also develop training methodology for persons with disability.
In addition, starting from 2023, Ukrainian Red Cross trainers will teach first aid skills to animals.
