Ukrainian Special Operations Forces carry out successful operation to destroy airfields in Berdiansk and Luhansk
On the night of October 17, Special Operations Forces (SOF) carried out a successful operation to defeat Russian airfields in Berdiansk and Luhansk, SOF reported.
As reported on the SOF Telegram channel on Tuesday, as a result, nine helicopters of various modifications, special equipment located at the airfields, an air defense launcher, an ammunition depot were destroyed, and the runways were damaged.
According to the Special Operations Forces, “Special Operations Forces received information about the enemy’s use of airfields in temporarily occupied Berdiansk and Luhansk, as well as the presence of a significant amount of aviation and special equipment and ammunition on them. The specified information was verified and confirmation was received. The coordinates and necessary data were transferred to defeat to units of the Defense Forces."
“As a result of the fire strike on the night of October 16-17, the occupiers suffered significant losses,” the message says.
“According to the latest data, the following were destroyed in Berdiansk and Luhansk: nine helicopters of various modifications, special equipment that was located at the airfields, an air defense launcher, an ammunition depot, and the airfield runways were damaged,” the SOF informs.
As noted, the ammunition depot in Berdiansk detonated before 04:00 a.m., the detonation in Luhansk continued until 11:00 a.m.
“Losses in enemy personnel amount to dozens of dead and wounded. Bodies are still being pulled out from under the rubble,” the message states.
