Russia interested in war in Middle East – Zelenskyy
Russia is interested in inciting war in the Middle East, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video message on Monday following a meeting on the situation in the Middle East.
"Today was a very busy day, various meetings, among which the new international situation was especially important. I held a meeting with the heads of the Main Intelligence Directorate and foreign intelligence, with our diplomats on the situation in and around Israel and on the general situation in the Middle East. This is important for us, not only for Ukraine, but for all of Europe," he said.
According to available information, Zelenskyy said, "Russia is interested in inciting war in the Middle East. So that a new source of pain and suffering will weaken world unity and add splits and contradictions."
"We see how Russian propagandists gloat, we see how Moscow's Iranian friends quite openly offer their shoulder to those who attack Israel. And all this is a much greater threat than the world now perceives," the president said.
