I am confident in America – Zelenskyy in Granada

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was "confident in America."

"I am confident in America. I am sure. These are strong people, strong society, strong institutions, strong energy of democracy. I have recently been in Washington. Talked with President Biden. I talked to congressmen ot both parties, both chambers. They absolutely support the protection of freedom and understand that Russia and other enemies of our way of life want to take advantage of the consequences of political storms," he said, speaking at the European Political Community Summit in Granada (Spain) on Thursday.

"And we in Europe should be ready. America helped us, helped Europe to survive. And now it is important for Europe not to hide its sails from the wind, trying to wait out the storm, but to be together in this turbulent time – to work together, protect our values and our common space of freedom with the United States," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, "it is in such mutual support – both in calm times and during challenges and security turbulence – that the real meaning of the transatlantic partnership lies."
