European Parliament supports creation of Ukraine Facility instrument to cover Ukraine's budget deficit – Shmyhal
The European Parliament supported the initiative, which provides for the creation of a new financial instrument for Ukraine - Ukraine Facility - in the amount of up to EUR 50 billion, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"I am grateful to the European Parliament for its solidarity with the Ukrainian people... We expect to receive EUR 18 billion next year. These funds will help finance the budget deficit, accrual of social benefits, pensions and salaries of doctors and teachers," Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.
According to him, the authorities, together with the European Commission, are working closely to implement the necessary changes and transformations that will bring Ukraine closer to the EU and open access to the program.
