Norway transfers large batch of tracked trucks to Ukraine
Norway will donate about 50 tracked trucks to Ukraine, which are needed to deliver goods to areas where there are no roads, Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram said.
The vehicle is called the M548 internationally, while the Norwegian version is called the NM199, the Norwegian government's website said Tuesday. Such trucks can transport ammunition, food and water for Ukrainian forces in the field.
The vehicles were stored in the Armed Forces, but are now undergoing maintenance. Their replacement will be carried out through already planned projects.
"Ukraine remains in dire need of military support in the fight against Russian invading forces. Norway will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary," Gram said.
