Zelenskyy: Victory in war with Russia is main goal for Ukraine, opening possibility of NATO membership

The main goal of Ukraine is to win the war with Russia, which will open up the possibility of NATO membership, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian and foreign media following his visit to Lithuania and participation in the NATO summit.

"NATO membership will definitely come with victory. And it is clear to everyone: we have absolute unity that Ukraine will be a member of the European Union. This is absolutely fair. Ukraine has been fighting for such a future, a near future – to be an equal member of the European Union, a security alliance and an independent state," the presidential press service said, citing him.

Zelenskyy said the main goal for Ukraine is to win the war with Russia.

"We believe in victory. We believe that there will be a next, very important step for Ukraine at the next NATO Summit. It is symbolic – after all, it will be the 75th anniversary of the Alliance, in Washington. We have to work hard and prepare for this Summit," the president said.
