Zelenskyy: Invitation to NATO would be motivating factor for Ukrainian society
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that an invitation to NATO would be an important signal for society.
"I really understand that this is a technical signal, but if we deal not only with technology and bureaucracy, but look at it as a serious motivating factor for Ukrainian society, then for me, as president, it was a very important moment," Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Vilnius on Wednesday.
"I really compare this fact with the moment of candidacy in the European Union both in bilateral relations and in the dialogue between other states. EU candidacy was also a signal. There is confidence in the candidacy and a powerful mobilization for Ukraine and a powerful signal to Russia," the president said.
According to him, and as for "the invitation to NATO, it's exactly the same, it's a signal."
