Ukraine receives first SAMP-T air defense system promised by Italy, France – media

Ukraine has received the first SAMP-T anti-aircraft missile system developed by Italy and France, La Stampa reports on Monday.

The SAMP-T air defense system is a ground-based system designed to protect the territory from air threats, in particular aircraft or cruise missiles. It is the only European defense system with anti-ballistic capability. The system is capable of destroying enemy aircraft at ranges from 3 km to 100 km and ballistic missiles at ranges from 3 km to 25 km.

As reported, Italy and France in February confirmed the delivery of the SAMP-T air defense system to Ukraine.
