Treated surgical cases become more complex and costly due to war – head of NHSU
Treated surgical cases in 2022-2023 because of the war have become more complex and expensive, Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) Natalia Husak has said.
"The cases treated in connection with the war are becoming more complex. Both civilians and the military have more complex war injuries, mine-explosive injuries, and this is also recorded in the electronic healthcare system," she said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
As Husak said, in 2023 the tariff for a treated case for inpatient surgical services was increased by UAH 1,500.
In addition, she recalled that in 2023, the tariff for inpatient rehabilitation increased from UAH 10,800 to more than UAH 33,000.
