Russian troops intensify shelling after reports about AFU taking positions on left bank Kherson region – Humeniuk
The enemy has intensified its shelling attacks on Kherson and Beryslav districts in Kherson region following recent news reports about the Armed Forces of Ukraine taking positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, Spokesperson for the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk has said.
"The latest updates are, regrettably, not very comforting and pleasant. In response to such information stuffing, the enemy has significantly intensified its attacks on the opposite bank. We have a heavy shelling of Kherson and Beryslav districts," she said on the air of the national telethon on Sunday.
Around 30 houses and schools were damaged and there are casualties as a result of the shelling, Humeniuk said.
"Inspired by this information, the enemy launched air strikes and used artillery trying to prove that it still controls its positions," she said.
