Emergency blackouts due to bad weather introduced in Kyiv
Emergency blackouts have been introduced in most districts of Kyiv due to worsening weather conditions, according to the Telegram channel of Kyiv City Military Administration on Wednesday, citing information from the DTEK Holding.
"They operate in Shevchenkivsky, Solomiansky, Sviatoshynsky, Holosiivsky, Pechersky, Podilsky, Darnytsky and Dniprovsky districts. Most of the damage is in Kyiv-Sviatoshynsky energy center. Power engineers are working in an enhanced mode in order to restore the operation of sections of power grids cut off by fallen trees as quickly as possible," according to the statement.
As reported, about 60 settlements and more than 30,000 customers in Kyiv region were left without power supply due to blackouts. According to DTEK, 62 6-10 kV lines and more than 1,000 transformer substations remain damaged. Most blackouts are in Vyshgorod, Kyiv-Sviatoshyn and Vasylkiv energy centers. Some 108 brigades were involved in the work.
