Pentagon asks troops in South Korea to provide equipment for delivery to Ukraine – media

The Pentagon has asked the American troops stationed in South Korea to send equipment and materials to help Ukraine, The Hill has reported.

The U.S. Armed Forces in Korea (USFK), which has about 28,000 troops in South Korea, confirmed to the ezine that they would provide some equipment to Ukraine.

At the same time, USFK representative Colonel Isaac Taylor said that the transfer of equipment will not affect the activities of the military in South Korea.

"This has zero impact on our operations and our ability to execute on our ironclad commitment to the defence of our ally, the Republic of Korea," USFK spokesperson Col. Isaac Taylor said in a statement.

The United States has provided billions of dollars worth of military aid to Ukraine since February last year. As previously reported, the Pentagon announced the allocation to Ukraine of a new batch of weapons worth $2.5 billion, including armored vehicles and air defense systems.
